I just had to stop when I saw these four adorable bichons, all with pink bows on their heads!
They were very well trained and were told to sit for my photo. And then they all got a treat for being so good!

This morning started beautifully after a couple days of rainy weather.
Lots of animals and people were out making the most of it after being cooped up. I saw three seperate broods of ducklings, including these paradise ducklings.
There were also lots of people whitebaiting, going for a run, or walking their dogs. One small doggy was super excited to be out, and came bounding up to me.
There was also a particularly cute wee black poodle that looked hilarious as it ran around the park, big boofy ears bouncing up and down, unfortunately smartphones don’t come with long lenses so it’s only captured in my mind!
Today I went to the biannual French Fest in Akaroa, a gorgeous seaside village with a strong French history. It was a stunning sunny day and the place was packed with people wearing stripy blue shirts, red berets, and drawn on black curly mustaches.
There were also lots and lots of dogs! I saw quite a few poodles, and other fluffy white dogs, as well as Alsatians, French bulldogs, and papillions.
There was also a parade, with at least one doggy getting a great view from the basket of a bike in the parade.
It was a beautiful warm sunny day in Christchurch today and some friends and I took a walk along the Heathcote River. If you’re a dog spotter then it’s definitely the place to come.
There were oodles of dogs out today.
Some having a respectable walk with their owners.
And others having a really good frolic.
Some were playing with sticks… Although perhaps a trifle ambitious in some cases.
Many of the dogs took a swim in the river to cool off.
And one dog was lucky enough to have it’s human paddle them up and down the river.
At the City to Surf event last Sunday there were several dogs taking part, it was great to see them out having so much fun.
The lady walking these fluffy white pooches certainly had her hands full!
Perhaps the most stylish of all was this beautiful shaggy grey dog.
It even had a gorgeous bandanna tied around it’s neck.
Both the dog and the owner were going at a decent pace too.
This friendly dog was standing on the foundations of a new building site ensuring that the builders were doing everything to code. He took a break from his hard work to come over and get some pats when I walked past.
At Mona Vale gardens, I was highly amused watching this lady with her camera. She appeared to be trying to nicely coax her dog to sit up on the bench and stay still long enough for her to get a nice shot with the flowers in the background. Unfortunately her dog wasn’t interested in being a model and I suspect the best shot she could hope for looked something like this.
I spotted these two dressed up pooches at the Riccarton Rotary Market today. The dogs were acting as the drawcard for their owner’s stall selling doggie related goods. They both seemed quite at ease despite all the people and noise, and as the sign promised, when a purchase was made the two little girls who had bought something were given little treats to feed to the dogs.
I visited our local cafe this morning and found Bella patiently waiting while her owner had her coffee inside.
It must have been the dog walking hour at a nearby park tonight. There was a huge range of dogs of all sizes and shapes congregating there and having a wonderful time!
